Hello. I live in Eagle River, Alaska. I've lived in Alaska for just about ten years now. I'm a pilot for ConocoPhillips up on the North Slope, and work an alternating schedule of one week on, one week off. On my off time, I have lots of time to play. What with an ongoing Airstream trailer project and a boat project, this usually translates to spending time fixing and cleaning things.
Other stuff I enjoy doing includes sailing (on the rare occasions the wind isn't blowing 50+ kts in Whittier), rock climbing (although it's been too long - as indicated by my recent recognition that all my ropes and runners desperately need replacing), mountaineering, bicycling, and photography. The sailboat seems to be doing a good job of helping dispose of all that extra cash lying around. It's pretty much an ongoing project (much like any boat, airplane, or house...) See pictures of my latest sailing (mis?) adventures/projects on my Wing Song web page. I've also still enjoying all the opportunities for great hiking, mountain biking (mostly during my winter escapes in Arizona), and skiing - all right around the corner.
Most of my years growing up were spent in Ridgecrest, CA. I graduated from Burroughs High School (in Ridgecrest) in 1985 and went on to UCLA, where I got my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in 1990. After graduating, I moved back to Ridgecrest, where I worked up until the time I moved to San Jose in 1997. I moved up to Anchorage in the spring of 1999 to try out a flying job up here, and have lived here ever since. I am married to my lovely wife, Marie, who, along with our flock of dogs & cats, are currently down in Arizona.
Someday, I might even update some of these to reflect stuff that's more current...
